Marianne Stebenne's

Female Forms

All these forms were made in a series first set of 11... I made them on the pottery wheel, and altered them by hand. Each took on a seperate charactertic. In spots on a few defects developed. I reviewed paralles

Each was polished during the wet to dry stage.( this takes about 9 hours in stages) While I was making these.. I would stroll around the Downtown Area, while burnishing the pots. 2 were pre-fired purchased. One was pit fired and the other was wood fired.

I then either pit fired 9 and wood fired 2 of the pieces.

The pit fired pieces remain porous and as such can not by itself be used as a vessel to hold water. I think of these vessels as more of intention vessels. Place your intentions inside the vessel and think highly.
